The Romanian Foreign Minister is confident that the Republic of Moldova will remain firmly anchored on the European path and will be part of the European Union.
Luminita Odobescu said in an interview for Radio Romania News that the life of Moldovan citizens will be substantially improved and that this is already visible in what President Maia Sandu and the government in Chisinau have done in recent years to anchor the country definitively on the European path.
For me personally, it is very clear which of the candidates can guarantee this objective. The citizens of the Republic of Moldova must vote not only with their hearts, but also with their minds, for their future, for a better future, to bring the Republic of Moldova into the European Union, where it belongs.
The foreign minister also encouraged Romanians who are also Moldovan citizens to take part in the vote, which decides their future and that of their families.
In the neighboring country, the second round of the presidential elections will take place tomorrow between the current head of state Maia Sandu, a pro-European, and Alexandr Stoianoglo, a former prosecutor general supported by the pro-Russian Socialist Party.
