Republic of Azerbaijan is a valuable strategic partner of Romania – this is the message Romanian Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall delivered during meetings in Baku.
Birchall concluded a four-day visit to Azerbaijan, where she represented Romania at the 7th edition of Baku Global Forum.
Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the most important economic partners in the Caucasus region, Romanian Deputy Prime Minister said. Ana Birchall also spoke about the importance Romania attaches to this region, from the perspective of EU enlargement.
According to a press release, program of the visit included meetings with the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev, with the Foreign Minister and other officials.
During discussion with President Aliyev, Birchall talked about dynamics of economic co-operation, including prospects of the Black Sea - Caspian Sea freight transport route.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and Azerbaijan, but also 10 years after creation of the Eastern Partnership.
