Romanian Deputy Chief of Defense, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, is in Brussels, to attend the EU Military Committee (EUMC), in the format of Chiefs of Defense (CHODs).
Agenda includes topics related to the current status and future challenges of operations carried out under the aegis of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), the place, role and missions of EU Tactical Battle Groups, ensuring coherence between EU initiatives in the field of capacity development (Permanent Structured Cooperation / PESCO, Coordinated Annual Review on Defense/ CARD, European Defense Fund/EDF), current state of EU-NATO cooperation, issues regarding digitalization and Artificial Intelligence from the military perspective.
EU Military Committee (EUMC) is the highest military body set up within the EU Council whose members are the Chiefs of Staff of EU Member States or their military representations in Brussels.
