Romanian Defense Minister Gabriel Leş has attended, on Tuesday, 25 June, in Brussels, alongside Head of EDA, Federica Mogherini and EDA Chief Executive, Jorge Domecq, ceremony celebrating the 15th anniversary of the European Defense Agency, organized at EDA headquarters.
In his speech as representative of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Minister Leş appreciated the central role of the European Defense Agency in EU's efforts towards security and defense – states a press release from Romanian Ministry of Defense (MApN).
At the same time, Minister Leş reaffirmed the excellent cooperation relationship with EDA during Romania's EU Council Presidency and expressed his conviction that collaboration relationship will continue at the same level in the future, thus contributing substantially to the development of joint initiatives in the defense field.

EDA currently has 27 signatory Member States (all EU Member States, except Denmark). EDA staffs about 170 people, plus a network of over 2500 national experts from member countries. The agency is headed by Jorge Domecq, Executive Director, under the authority of the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/ Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini.
