Romanian Chief of Defense, General Nicolae Ciucă, is in Norway to attend, on Tuesday, 30 October, the Trident Juncture (NATO exercise) Distinguished Visitors’ Day.
Trident Juncture is the largest NATO exercise since the end of the Cold War, with military maneuvers involving over 45,000 troops from 29 NATO Member States and partners Finland and Sweden.
"It is a very important exercise of the Alliance, where all NATO Member Countries are involved, and Romania couldn’t have missed. We are part of everything that means planning and execution part of the exercise, and we monitor how the Romanian militaries have fulfilled their missions in this drill. The exercise itself is meant to highlight the character of unity and the spirit of the decisions that have been taken at the NATO summit, aiming to strengthen deterrence and defense of the Alliance, not necessarily in a specific sector, but in a 360 degree approach", General Ciucă said.
