Romanian Army will acquire, next year, unmanned aircraft, both for research and combat missions. First drones will be of tactical level and will be purchased from the budget destined for the Defense - 2% of the Gross Domestic Product – Chief of Romanian Defense, General Nicolae Ciucă, declared for Radio Romania News Channel (RRA).
General Nicolae Ciucă: "By appealing again to the value of our financial resources and by prioritizing our needs, this segment of drones is about to start being financed and acquired for integration into the joint system of the Romanian Army. Acquisition programs are set to begin in 2020 for a less significant share, and from 2021 on, there will be budget lines for drones".
