The Romanian Army will have two new Commands for Special Operation Forces and Cyber Defense, adapted to the military challenges of the 21st century, that will become operational in the first part of 2018, said General Nicolae Ciucă, Head of the Romanian Army General Staff.
The announcement was made on the occasion of the beginning of the new military academic year, when high officials attended opening ceremonies at the Military Academies in Bucharest, Constanţa, Braşov and Sibiu.
The “Carol I” National Defense University is the representative institution for the Romanian military academic education, which for 128 years prepares the leaders of the Romanian Armed Forces, said the Romanian Defense Minister, Mihai Fifor, according to RRA Correspondent Radu Dobriţoiu.
Mihai Fifor: "Carol I" National Defense University is and must remain a pole of excellence in military higher education, not only at national level but also internationally, by connecting to the values of the academic environment of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance and of the European Union.
