Between January and March 2020, the 71st Air Base in Câmpia Turzii is the host of the Romanian-U.S. exercise DACIAN REAPER-20, an exercise organized and planed in 2019.
On Tuesday, on the Distinguished Visitors Day, main data regarding the exercise were presented and a static exhibition was organized, made up of military technic from the air base endowment, as well as a MQ-9 Reaper aircraft unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
RRA correspondent Claudiu Pădurean: "This drone has been used in several operations of the US Army, including in the liquidation of Iranian general Soleimani. Exercise is attended by Romanian troops and the 52nd Expeditionary Operations Group Detachment 2, a unit which fulfills the intelligence, surveillance and research missions on Miroslawiec Airport in Poland, and belongs to the 52nd Fighter Wing within the Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.
