Romania will receive, this month, additional doses of anti-COVID vaccine produced by Pfizer / BioNTech, but there will be fewer deliveries from the AstraZeneca group, said today the coordinator of the national vaccination campaign Valeriu Gheorghita.
In total, almost 900.000 doses are expected by the end of the month.
Valeriu Gheorghita: We will receive from Pfizer, weekly, two tranches of 345.000 doses each. There will be a fairly significant increase in the number of doses allocated each week. Also, from Moderna we will receive, during the next week, the last tranche from March of approximately 160.000 doses, and from AstraZeneca we will receive, weekly, approximately 45.000 doses.
Regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine, Romania will fully apply the recommendations of the European Medicines Agency, doctor Valeriu Gheorghita also told Radio Romania News.
The agency will make public in just a few hours the conclusions reached by its vaccine safety experts, after analyzing the cases reported by some states of blood clots in people who have received a dose of this serum.
