Romania will not go into general quarantine after the December 6 elections, President Klaus Iohannis stressed today.
In a press conference at the Cotroceni Palace, he specified that the analysis of the National Institute of Public Health clearly shows that there is a decreasing trend of new coronavirus infections at national level in recent days.
As a result, authorities will continue to apply the quarantine measure only in needed areas, said Klaus Iohannis.
Klaus Iohannis: I want to be very clear: there is no intention, I do not intend to promote the establishment of a national quarantine, a so-called lockdown, after the parliamentary elections on December 6. So the lockdown doesn't happen. The approach we have taken so far has proven to work and we will continue to do so. So we will continue to institute regional measures, so in places where the situation requires it.
Host: The president called on the population to comply with health safety measures and to spend the winter holidays only with those with whom they live together.
