Romania will not allow the Russian delegation to attend the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which will take place in Bucharest from 29 June to 3 July.
The measure will apply to all members of the Russian delegation, i.e. parliamentarians and technical staff. The same ban will also apply to the Belarusian delegation, which supports the war in Ukraine.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Radu Filip explained to Radio Romania News that Bucharest's decision is based on Romania's known and consistent position towards Moscow in the context of the war against Ukraine.
In addition, some of the members of the Russian delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly are subject to restrictive measures at European level, so they cannot be received in Romania, Radu Filip said.
