Romania will be among the first European countries to apply 5G technology, and this will happen next year, said Romanian Communications Minister, Alexandru Petrescu, at the opening of the 9th edition of Conference "New global challenges in the field of cyber security" (7-8 October).
Minister Petrescu gave assurances that the schedule announced by authorities will be respected, so that frequency allocation will be done by the end of this year.
"We will definitely start in 2020. Auction has already been carried out in a some countries, Germany has a longer procedure but it is already coming to an end, Italy has finished it since November last year, Austria also ended it sometime this summer, Hungary ... has a timeframe similar with ours, and it is important to maintain this path so that we remain among the first countries to adopt it. 5G technology is really a turning point", said Communications Minister Alexandru Petrescu.
