Romania will be under the influence of a new intense and long-lasting heat wave

The National Meteorological Administration has issued two yellow heat warnings, the first valid on Monday in 13 counties and Bucharest, and the second on Tuesday in 17 counties and the capital.
Thus, on Monday, in most of Oltenia, Muntenia and locally in mainland Dobrogea, high temperatures will be recorded for this date, with highs generally between 33 and 35 degrees. Locally, it will be hot and uncomfortably hot, with the temperature-humidity index (THI) around 80.
At the same time, on Tuesday, June 18, temperatures will be above normal for the calendar period in Oltenia, Banat, south-western Transylvania and most of Muntenia. Maximum temperatures will generally be between 32 and 35 degrees and locally it will be hot. Thermal discomfort will be high, with THI reaching and slightly exceeding the critical threshold of 80 units.
Meteorologists say that in the coming days, the weather will continue to warm up and the thermal discomfort will become more pronounced, so that Romania will be under the influence of a new intense and long-lasting heat wave.
