Romania to eliminate excise duty on fuel starting January 1st, 2020
Laws will come into force as of January 1, 2020.

Starting January 1st 2020, Romania is to eliminate excise duty on fuel, introduced in 2017. Draft law on the subject, initiated by liberal MPs, has been adopted in plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies. Also, overcharged duties on part-time employment contracts will be removed.
RRA Reporter Cătălin Purcaru says that by removal of fuel surcharge, Romanians might save 30 lei on a full tank.
Laws will come into force as of January 1, 2020.
