The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luminita Odobescu, discussed with her Serbian counterpart, Marko Duric, the process of Serbia's accession to the European Union.
She recalled that Romania's support for the European course of the candidate countries in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Neighborhood is well known.
Luminita Odobescu: From our own experience, we have obviously emphasized the importance of proactively communicating to citizens the specific benefits and responsibilities of the European integration process. Moving forward to the next stages requires efforts, including in terms of human resources, administrative capacity, and that is why I reiterated Romania's full support and our openness to offer relevant expertise to Serbia, where necessary.
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Duric, for his part, said that accession to the European Union is a basic priority for his country.
He stressed the importance of the highway project that will link the two countries.
