Romania’s TAROM appoints new interim General Director

TAROM's Board of Directors appointed, on Monday, Wolff Werner-Wilhelm as interim General Manager, with a mandate of four months.
"TAROM informs that, following today's meeting (November 20, 2017) of the Board of Directors (…), Wolff Werner-Wilhelm was appointed as TAROM General Manager with an interim mandate for a four-month period. This decision was taken after evaluation of several applications submitted to the TAROM Board of Management", according to a briefing from the national aviation operator.
Wolff Werner-Wilhelm is the fifth Interim Managing Director who will run the company in 2017, replacing Ileana Daniela Dragne, who resigned on Wednesday, November 15, invoking "personal issues". Daniela Dragne replaced Florin Susanu, who replaced Dan Plaveti and Eugen Davidoiu.
TAROM is in a process of reevaluation and reorganization, after several incidents with the company's aircrafts and after an announcement of this year's estimated loss to 207 million lei.
Romanian state-owned Airline TAROM was established in 1954 and operates under the authority of the Ministry of Transport. Since June 2010, TAROM has been a member of Sky Team Alliance, since 1993 - member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and since 2000 - member of the Association of European Airlines (AEA).
