Romania's priority at the Madrid summit is, as for Bulgaria, the operationalization of the NATO fighting group, said the Romanian Minister of Defense, Vasile Dincu. He spoke with his Bulgarian counterpart about strengthening bilateral relations to reinforce the Alliance's defensive stance in the Black Sea area.
Bulgarian Defense Minister Dragomir Zakov stressed that the two states face the same challenges and have a responsibility to contribute to security and stability in the region. The Bulgarian dignitary described the situation in Kyiv, following his recent visit there.
Dragomir Zakov: What we saw on TV was completely different from what we actually saw in person, and in fact, leaving Kiev last night, we saw three missiles flying over our heads. The Ukrainian air defense was able to intercept one, but the other two hit residential buildings in Kyiv, so that sums it up.
