The three pharmacies in the country that serve the mobile Emergency Medical Teams 1, provided by Romania through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, will have more money for equipment. The Ministry of Health's budget was recently supplemented by 673.000 lei to equip the pharmaceutical units in Targu Mures and the two emergency clinical hospitals for adults and children in Bucharest. This will strengthen Romania's disaster response capacity in the European Union, said Mariana Negoita, spokesperson for the Targu Mures County Emergency Hospital.
Mariana Negoita: "The amount allocated to the Targu Mures County Emergency Clinical Hospital will be used for the purchase of medicines and sanitary materials necessary for the specific activities related to the operationalization of the mobile medical capabilities offered by Romania through the European Civil Protection Mechanism. Thus, through the hospital's pharmacy, medicines and sanitary materials will be permanently available to the staff who will serve the mobile unit in case of disasters".
The Targu Mures Mobile Hospital was presented at the end of last month, a project worth 900.000 euros, of which 800.000 European money. The mobile unit is equipped with all the necessary medicines and can be used for any form of disaster, from earthquakes to fires and floods, recalls Radio Romania Targu Mures.
