Romania's Economy Grew by 1.4% in the First Quarter
The Romanian economy grew by an unexpected 1.4% in the first three months of this year, as compared to the fourth quarter last year, according to NSI.

The Romanian economy grew by an unexpected 1.4% in the first three months of this year, as compared to the fourth quarter last year, quite near the estimates by the Government in Bucharest and the IMF, according to the data published by the National Statistics Institute.
Last year, the economic growth in the first quarter was of only 0.4% as compared to the last three months of 2011.
The overall economic growth in 2012 was 0.7%, as the draught caused a decline in agricultural production.
In 2013, the economic growth could by higher than the forecast 1.6% of the GDP, were it a good agricultural year.
