RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Romania proposes to the European Union the adoption of a separate set of sanctions against entities or individuals that support Russia in destabilizing the Republic of Moldova. The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, declared today, before the Council for Foreign Affairs in Brussels, that these measures are imposed in the context of the latest information obtained by the officials from Chisinau, which prove Russia's intentions to destabilize the Republic of Moldova, as part of the plan that also includes the war in Ukraine.
Bogdan Aurescu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs: "There is a new government in Chisinau, one committed to reforms and achieving European integration, and at the same time, the president of the Republic of Moldova showed us information related to Russia's plan to destabilize the country. I think it is extremely important for the European Union to send a strong message of support for the Republic of Moldova. In this sense, I will propose to the Council for analysis a regime of sanctions for attempts to destabilize the Republic of Moldova."
According to RRA reporter Bogdan Isopescu, the proposal of the head of Romanian diplomacy comes in the context of discussions at the level of the European Union regarding the imposition of the tenth package of sanctions against Russia.
