"Romania must double its vaccination efforts"

Romania needs to double its vaccination efforts over the summer, given that only 30% of the adult population has been completely vaccinated, says European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides, who will visit, today, July 16, Romania.
She added that the more transmissible Delta version of the virus, already present in the European Union and which will circulate widely this summer, poses a major risk to unvaccinated people.
Vaccination is and will be the most powerful weapon against the covid variants, the European commissioner added.
According to a press release of the European Commission's representation in Bucharest, Stella Kyriakides will meet with the Minister of Health, Ioana Mihaila, and will pay a visit to the vaccination center in Petresti.
