RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Yesterday, Romania marked 65 years since joining UNESCO.
On this occasion, the Romanian Opera organized an anniversary event, which included exhibitions of photography and fine arts, the presentation of mini-documentaries with UNESCO heritage sites in our country, as well as a concert by the Madrigal Choir.
Secretary General of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO, Madlen Serban.
Madlen Serban: "Today, July 27, is first and foremost the day Romania joined UNESCO, but it is, moreover, another anniversary in 2021. It is the year in which the National Commission for Romania was established for UNESCO, representing a governmental interface between the big, global policies decided by 193 Member States and our country as a Member State. It is the intention of all Member States to occupy people's minds creatively, with beautiful, with art, with dialogue, with tolerance, so that we don't have time for wars. UNESCO has the logo <<Let's build peace in the minds of men and women>>".
