Romania is "the country with the lowest average gross salary in the EU"

Romania is the country with the lowest average gross salary in the European Union, approximately 1.000 euros per month.
According to the data published by Eurostat, at European level, last year the average salary was over 2.700 euros per month.
The highest average salaries were in: Luxembourg - 6.000 euros per month, Denmark - over 5.000 and Ireland - over 4.000.
Between July and September of this year, salary costs increased, on average, by 2.8% in the European Union and by only 1.9% in Romania, while social contributions paid by the employer increased by 5.3 % at community level, and in Romania by 10.9%.
