Defence companies from Member States can attend the communication session with Commission representatives on 28 and 29 May to receive details of the new European Defence Fund funding line.
The amount of funding for 2024 is €1.1 billion and the project submission session will start in June.
The results of last year's session were also published today. Romania is participating in two defence projects.
The European Defence Fund funded 54 defence projects from 26 Member States last year.
The value exceeds €1 billion and the selected projects develop state-of-the-art defence solutions.
These include cyber defence, land, air and naval combat, space asset protection, and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence.
Project Mars, for example, brings together 70 industrial players and research organisations to design the new line of tanks to be used across Europe.
Romania, military communication projects
Romania is participating in two projects, through Artemis Research & Innovation, the project coordinator, and the "Carol I" National Defence University.
Both projects are in the field of military communication and have a combined value of almost €10 million.
The European Defence Fund finances the increase of production capacity and the development of new solutions in the military field, from vehicles or weapons to digital systems.
All projects involve collaboration between as many entities as possible from member states. Last year's average shows 17 entities from eight member states participating in a single project.
