Romania - highest annual inflation rate in the EU in July
Romania registered, in July 2019, the highest annual rate of inflation among EU Member States, a position Romania kept for seven consecutive months.

Romania registered, in July 2019, the highest annual rate of inflation among EU Member States, a position Romania kept for seven consecutive months.
According to data released on 19 August by Eurostat, Romania registered 4.1% annual inflation, three times higher than the EU average.
Hungary registers 3.3%, followed by Latvia and Slovakia, both with 3%.
Conversely, countries with the lowest annual inflation rate are Portugal (-0.7%), Cyprus (0.1%) and Italy (0.3%).
