The EU's multiannual budget for 2021-2027 and the Economic Recovery Plan are on the agenda of the European leaders' summit starting today in Brussels.
Romania is represented by President Klaus Iohannis, who stated that Bucharest's goal is to obtain funds as consistent as possible.
President Klaus Iohannis considers that Romania has a great chance to obtain consistent funding for the upcoming years from the European Union both in terms of the European multiannual budget and in the economic recovery package, both in the process of negotiation in Brussels.
The president also stated that he wants our country to benefit from a sufficiently large amount for the cohesion policy, but also for the agricultural one, so that he can implement his plans in various fields.
Klaus Iohannis: We need European money for hospitals, schools, highways, railways, obviously, agriculture.
Reporter: The President of Romania does not know if the discussions will be finalized today and tomorrow, because in the European Council the opinions are still divided.
Not all Member States are convinced that the table proposal is the best, and negotiations are proving complicated.
