Romania's gas imports are proceeding normally, and the country can ensure its consumption needs from domestic production during this period, Transgaz general manager Ion Sterian told Agerpres on Wednesday.
"In recent days, during the Easter period, Romania's gas consumption was 13-14 million cubic meters per day, very low, and Romgaz was forced to close certain wells and reduce its production, due to low demand. Today, consumption is estimated at 19.5 million cubic meters," said Ion Sterian.
"Romania can ensure all its gas consumption from domestic production during this period. Consumption is no more than 20-21 million cubic meters per day, and production can reach 23 million cubic meters. It is important to bring gas from imports, from other sources, to fill the warehouses, so that in autumn, at the beginning of the cold season, we will have 3.2 billion cubic meters in warehouses", Ion Sterian specified.
