Bucharest hosts today the Trilateral Meeting Romania-Bulgaria-Greece at the level of Foreign Ministers.
RRA Reporter Carmen Gavrilă about the main topics on the agenda: "The objectives of the Romania-Bulgaria-Greece Trilateral and the areas of cooperation are, on the political dimension, the dialogue on regional developments and, on the economic dimension, cooperation in the field of transport and energy infrastructure, and general aspects of economic development.
Trilateral also has a regional stability dimension, combating illegal migration, drug trafficking and organized crime.
Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Meleşcanu said that the main theme of the meeting will be the Western Balkans.
Teodor Meleşcanu: "There is the idea of providing a perspective, a horizon until 2025 for the enlargement of the EU in this area.
This will probably be the main topic of the meeting, because of the fact that both Bulgaria and Greece are extremely active on this issue, and Romania, as a country close to the Balkans, is also interested in providing a perspective for the Western Balkan countries in their relationship with the EU".
In 2010, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece adopted a joint declaration on the Western Balkans. Also within the Trilateral, there is a protocol of the three respective governments in the field of internal affairs, on combating cross-border crime and emergency response to natural disasters".
