According to the agreement being negotiated between Romania and the U.S., Romanians overseas will be allowed as at their pension calculation to be taken into account also the seniority in the country.
Romania and the United States negotiated an agreement on social security which will allow Romanians overseas at their pension calculation to consider also the age they have had in the country.
Located in Washington, the Minister of Labour, Mariana Câmpeanu, said that for the first time was established the person within the U.S. administration in charge with the negotiations.
"In the near future, we will do an exchange of information also linked to the provisions of law in each country; we will do a first draft that we will send. That will be discussed here and we will follow the necessary steps.
"I think it is a good start because we were told that since 2009, when they reached an agreement with Poland, they have not signed any agreement with any other state but that Romania is among the countries with which they agree to conclude such agreements and that we accomplish the conditions to enter into this agreement, "said the Minister of Labour.
Minister Mariana Câmpeanu has told for Radio Romania Actualitati that she does not know how long it takes before signing the agreement, but still she was assured that things will work out.
