Francophonie is an adventure that started forty years ago.
As time passed by, people took more and more into account the fundamental usefulness of the fight for the French language, for linguistic and cultural diversity, but also for the universal values which the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) promotes.
Secretary General of La Francophonie, Abdou Diouf, said that the International Day of Francophonie, dedicated this year to the young people, is an extremely popular festival, which illustrates the many messages conveyed by the OIF.
These messages promote peace, democracy, human rights, education, diversity and solidarity, but also conflict prevention.
