In October, Romania was among the European Union countries that recorded the highest price increases at which products left the factory gates, compared to the same month last year.
The increase was, according to Eurostat data, almost 54%.
Higher increases than in Romania were recorded in Hungary, Slovakia, Latvia and Bulgaria, while the only country where prices fell year-on-year was Ireland.
The community-wide average indicates an increase of around 31%. European statistics state that the main cause of the increase is the price of energy.
