Romania ranks 13 among Ernst & Young top, measuring attractiveness to investors of renewable energy projects in 40 countries, maintaining its position from the previous year.
Country Attractiveness Indices Renewable Energy Report, covering the period December 2012 - February 2013, put Romania ahead of countries like Poland, Turkey, Spain and Austria.
Regarding the investment attractiveness depending on renewable sources concerned, Romania is the top wind power in 10th place, just as in the previous edition of the report, in November 2012, after the great economic powers like Germany, China, United States, United Britain and France.
Regarding the solar energy, Romania is in the second part of the top, on the 24th place, but before Poland and Bulgaria. Ernst & Young noted, however, that this market is very active in Romania, which indicates substantial growth projections in 2013 of installed capacity by solar power.
Ernst & Young Quarterly Index analyzes 40 most attractive countries in the world on domestic renewable energy, infrastructure and compatibility with individual technologies.
The latest report, released Tuesday, shows the public pressure growing on subsidies that promote the development of renewable energy projects.
Also, the Ernst & Young report discusses the renewable energy projects in the context of the expansion gained by the mining projects of shale gas, which many industry players see as having the potential to distract investors from renewable energy.
