Romania A is the winner of Women’s Handball Carpathian Trophy (international friendly tournament), this year at its 50th edition, after defeating Romania B in the final that took place on Saturday evening in Bucharest’s Polyvalent Hall, with 33-24 (21-12 at half time).
Four teams, including two from Romania, fought for two days for this Trophy, which is a good test before the European Handball Championship that starts in France at the end of November.
Alongside Romania A and Romania B, Carpathian Trophy was also attended by Russia and Serbia.
In the final for the third place, Russia defeated Serbia with the score of 33-32 (14-17).
Romania’s first game at the European Handball Championship in France is scheduled on Romania’s National Day (December 1st), when the players trained by Spaniard Ambros Martin will meet the representative of Czech Republic.
