The Revolution case, in which former Romanian President Ion Iliescu and former Deputy Prime Minister Gelu Voican Voiculescu, among others, are defendants, has been sent back to the Prosecutor's Office, as the judges of the High Court of Cassation and Justice considered that the military prosecutors did not remedy the irregularities in the indictment.

Today's decision is final.

There was also a separate opinion by a female judge that the indictment had been lawfully drawn up and the trial could have started.

This is not the first time the Revolution case has returned to prosecutors. The last time was in 2021.
