The Navy Band gave a performance in Bucharest ahead of the Navy Day celebrations. For an hour, the brass band performed on the promenade in front of the National Bank Palace.
Reporter Alex Avram gave details of the event: Several hundred citizens of Bucharest and tourists who were in the Old Center of the Capital enjoyed a unique show, offered by the representative music of the Navy. Cornel Ignat, the conductor of the Military Music, explained to Radio Romania News that this evening's event is part of a larger series of events dedicated to Navy Day, which will culminate on Thursday in Constanta with the traditional festivities held on the promenade in front of the Navy Headquarters.
We can say that we are kicking off the events dedicated to naval spirituality. During this period there will be book launches, exhibitions of sailing objects, open-air concerts, visits to the Naval Academy, visits to the Naval Museum. So, it's not just the brass band concerts that are in the spotlight, we're all in the spotlight, all of us in the Navy. Tonight, here in front of the National Bank, we played a promenade concert and promoted the Navy repertoire. We tried to interact with the audience, they danced with us, they played with us.
