Reorganization ‘will go on in 2011, as well’
The President Traian Băsescu has announced that the Government is going to lay off other 26,000 employees in the budgetary sector. The reorganization will go on next year as well, but it will be based on qualitative criteria.

By the end of this year, other 26,000 employees in the budgetary sector are going to be laid off, the President Traian Băsescu has confirmed in a meeting with foreign investors.
The action of reorganization will go on next year as well, but it will be based on qualitative criteria, taking into account the need to develop the employees’ qualifications and reduce bureaucracy in the public sector, the President also stated.
Welfare, not pension cut is predicted for the next year, Traian Băsescu has claimed.
The President has also talked about the agreements the Romanian authorities made with the international financial institutions, insisting on politicians having to act wisely so that their commitments might be carried out.
Traian Băsescu has criticized the decisions made by the judges of the Constitutional Court regarding the law that involves a 15% cut of pensions, because they put Romania in a difficult situation.
The Romanian President has declared that there were problems during the discussions with the international financial organizations, problems concerning the credibility and predictability of the decisions made by the Romanian judicial institutions.
According to the head of state, extremely important decisions have been taken not on constitutional, but on opportunity criteria, this aspect making Romania enter a very difficult situation.
