Record number of new cases of coronavirus infection announced on Thursday, June 25, by the Romanian authorities, 460, the highest during the state of alert, but also the highest level reached since April 22. The total number of confirmed cases in our country is now 25.286.
The Minister of Health, Nelu Tataru, explained that the very large number of new cases today is a product of the relaxation measures.
Nelu Tataru, who is a doctor by profession, also said that the number of infections increased because people no longer respected the rules of protection and hygiene and because they were, and I quote, "instigated not to respect them anymore".
"We are preparing another set of relaxation measures for July 1. I hope that we'll be able to put them in effect. If there are any restrictions, they will be strictly punctual and local. I still urge caution, but caution cannot be limited to the medical system or the medical staff, the civilian population must have it too. We will have discussions today, at a government meeting, and tomorrow. The next period of relaxation measures will start, I hope, on July 1. We will make the decision on Monday", Nelu Tataru stated.
