A rapid reaction test in the event of a severe nuclear accident at the Kozloduy plant in Bulgaria is taking place these days in the Dolj County and aims mainly to identify vulnerable areas in such situations.
The activities foreseen in the scenario are to be carried out at both decision-making and field level, where certain elements of the intervention device are installed. According to the Oltenia Emergency Situations Inspectorate, all public administration authorities serving the cities and villages in the emergency planning area (spreading 30 km from the plant site) are participating.
The main elements of the intervention device are installed in the Bechet, Valea Stanciului and Rojiştea localities. Participants test the response capacity and the intervention procedures currently in force for such emergency situations.
The exercise is scheduled to take place until October 6th.
