Only eight days left until the opening of the most expected annual event in the book industry, for nearly a quarter of a century.

GAUDEAMUS 2017 International Book & Education Fair, initiated and organized by Radio Romania, will take place on November 22-26 in the Central Pavilion of the Romexpo Exhibition Center in Bucharest.

24th edition Guest of Honor is the European Commission, that will attend with a generous stand and a rich and varied event program, addressing both publishing professionals and the general public.

The honorary President of the Gaudeamus Fair 2017 will be the well-known Romanian playwright and journalist Matei Vişniec.

Hundreds of thousands of titles, many of which are available for the first time, over 800 editorial and professional events scheduled to take place during the five days of the fair, personalities of the national cultural landscape, numerous workshops and events dedicated to the youngest visitors - all of these constitute the major milestones of this year’s edition.

Official opening of the 2017 Edition of the Gaudeamus International Book Fair will take place on Wednesday, November 22, at 12:00.

The press conference that precedes the opening of the edition will take place on Thursday, November 16, starting 12:00, at the Radio Romania Press Center (Mihail Jora Concert Hall Foyer, 60-64 General Berthelot str.).

As in the previous editions, many audiences will have free access: preschoolers, students, teachers, librarians, editorial / educational professionals, journalists, retirees, people with disabilities and their attendants, organized groups. For visitors who do not fall into these categories, access will be based on tickets (5 lei) and entry fees (worth 10 lei for the whole period), which will also be used in the Gaudeamus Book Fair Tombola. Daily visit schedule is between 10:00 and 20:00.
