Romania celebrated, yesterday, 95 years since the exact time is given. On November 1, 1928, at 5:00 p.m., the first live broadcast took place. It's exactly the time when, yesterday, the Gala began, through which Radio Romania rewarded performance in various fields. In the Culture and Art category, for example, the winner is Constantin Chiriac, director of the International Theater Festival in Sibiu, and in Innovation and Science, the prize went to Sergiu Pasca, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford University in the United States. The "Dăruişte Viaţă" Association is also among the laureates, for its efforts in building the first large hospital in Romania financed exclusively by private funds and donations.
Also, in order to keep up with performance and new technologies, Radio Romania launched a digital platform, as stated at the Gala by the President and General Director, Razvan Ioan Dinca.
Razvan Ioan Dinca: We launched the Radio Romania application. It has already been downloaded by over 1.000 people. Look at this application, look at what the new generations look like, look at what Radio Romania is starting to mean in digital form. We redid almost all the Radio Romania websites. By the end of the year, all the sites will be redone and I believe that this important step towards digital will make Radio Romania grow not only in the online environment, but also in the on air environment. And although we are number one in the radio market in this vast area, we believe that we still have things to say and thanks to our listeners, we feel the need to be validated all the time through important events, through a rich editorial and through the participation of our artists, such as the Big Band.
