Pupils and students are launching the campaign "We know what we want, but who is taking responsibility?" as the presidential and parliamentary elections approach.
Through this campaign, young people are drawing attention to the shortcomings in the education system and highlighting the importance of their involvement in decision-making processes.
Among the major priorities that the three structures bring to the attention of future decision-makers are: ensuring safe and non-violent learning environments in pre-university education establishments. It also calls for the involvement of young people and youth organizations in all decision-making and consultative processes at national level.
Combating abuses against young people on the labor market, especially in terms of unfair pay, and facilitating their access to health services are other priorities that the leaders of the three structures want to present to the candidates in the parliamentary and presidential elections.
Sergiu Covaci, president of the National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania: There are 14 priorities, both tailored to the common for pupils, students, young people, the requirements of priorities that we have, the proper funding of the education system - to have a modern education, based on internationalization, digitalization.
The young people involved in starting the campaign demand that all candidates in the parliamentary and presidential elections assume the 14 priorities of pupils, students and young people and include them in their political programs, along with the assumption that, in a potential mandate, they will be supported and implemented at national level.
