The Moldova Parliament decided to punish those who don’t use Romanian language in public advertisement.
According the law, the publicity messages have to be necessary shown in Romanian, able only to be duplicated in other language.
The liberal deputy, Valeriu Munteanu, the one who begun the sanctions, declared that “we have a lot of advertisements in Moldavia, dozens companies name, dozens of other advertisements, that do not respect this right of majority to be informed in Romanian.”
“That’s why we came with the fine the Controversial Code of Moldova, by which we established fines for the ones that would not respect this laws”, said Valeriu Munteanu.
Fining of public advertisement in other languages was decided in the context of intensification of calls for the civil society and media to protect Romanian language in Moldova.
In cinemas, the movies are doubled, in general, only in Russian, and the call center from taxi companies take orders in this language.
