PSD withdraws political support for PM Grindeanu

The ruling Social Democratic Party (PSD) unanimously withdrew, in the party's National Executive Committee (CExN), its political support for the Government of Sorin Grindeanu. The CExN members voted unanimously to exclude from the PSD those who would accept to be part of a possible Cabinet of Sorin Grindeanu. All PSD ministers resigned after the ALDE leader Calin Popescu Tariceanu had announced earlier that party ministers gave up their functions.
According to PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea, the Government has achieved less than 39% of the measures mentioned in the governance program for this period.
The second party of the governing coalition, ALDE, decided earlier to withdraw its political support for the Sorin Grindeanu Cabinet. ALDE Ministers wrote their resignations, Alliance leader Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced.
