RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Government approved today the way of providing health services starting with April 1; the application rules will be published in the next period.

It has been announced, for the time being, that the basic service packages in primary health care have been extended, and these will be able to be provided not only in the family doctor's office, but also at the patient's home or place of request.

Also, family doctors will be able to recommend to patients the administration of medicines in various forms, including at home, and also outside working hours.

The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, Adriana Pistol, says that the new provisions create the premises for ensuring a permanent access to medical services provided by the family doctor, with the reduction of the health recovery period.

Adriana Pistol: “Thus, the access of patients was ensured for a minimum of 35 hours per week, minimum 5 days, of course the distribution of this new work program being established by negotiation with the Health Insurance Houses. With regard to the development of contractual relations, the possibility of increasing the working hours by a maximum of 17.5 hours per week for each paraclinical doctor was provided."

Adriana Pistol also announced that the executive has approved today the financing for 13 national programs from the budget of the Ministry of Health and for another 15 curative health programs, supported by the Single National Health Insurance Fund.

A novelty is the introduction of a national screening program for priority chronic diseases - transmitted the RRA reporter Petruta Obrejan.
