Protests in Bucharest and in several cities in the country

Hundreds of police officers from Bucharest and the country protested on Tuesday morning, in Victoriei Square in the Capital, dissatisfied with the budget allocated this year to the Ministry of Interior for personnel expenses, the freezing of salaries for public servants and the insignificant increase of the minimum wage. They also showed discontent for the removal of holiday vouchers.
Employees in the hospitality industry are also dissatisfied with the non-granting of vouchers this year. They also protested in several cities in the country.
The Minister of Economy, Claudiu Nasui, said that the development plans of the sector should not be made at the ministry, but through collaboration between the state, local authorities and the industry.
He also stated on Tuesday that the funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan can be used.
Protests took place on Tuesday in front of the Ministry of Transport.
About 100 syndicate members from the railways have called for the application of the status of railway staff, a law that should increase salaries and make more investments for the modernization of railway lines.
