Money for work that was not performed
According to police sources, large firms fraudulently received contracts execution, maintenance and repair of RADET Bucharest network.
The firms paid bribes for lucrative contracts with the state, so that the price for heat continuously increased.
Moreover, although they were awarded these contracts and amounts paid from public funds, the companies did not carried out the works.
In some cases, RADET directors suspected of fraud would have received, in addition to bribes, also trips and expensive holidays abroad, paid by companies receiving preferential contracts.
