European Affairs, but also Romania's cooperation with the European Parliament, European Commission and the Council of the European Union are priorities of the Romanian Government, said Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă on Monday during meeting at Victoria Palace with Romanian Ambassadors and Consuls accredited abroad.

Discussions at the Victoria Palace were part of the current Annual Meeting of the Romanian Diplomacy, organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As Viorica Dăncilă stated, accession of Romania to the Schengen area and completion as soon as possible of Cooperation and Verification Mechanism are among top priorities.

Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă: From our point of view, joint efforts at European level should focus on four main aspects: promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth to help ensure real convergence within the European Union, single market, safety of European citizens and setting an effective external action.

Romanian Prime Minister also called on Romanian Ambassadors and Consuls to get actively involved in reaching the major objectives of economic diplomacy.

At the same time, Romania's candidacy for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) remains one of its Foreign Policy objectives that must be supported by the Romanian diplomacy, Prime Minister said, according to Radio Romania News Reporter Petruţa Obrejan.
