Princess Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, together with Prince Radu, visited, on Thursday, the premises of the Romanian Broadcasting Society. Visit takes place in the context of this year’s 90th anniversary since the establishment of Radio Romania in 1928, under the reign of King Mihai.

Georgică Severin, President Director General of the Romanian Broadcasting Society, presented the guests the document that set the foundation of the Romanian Broadcasting Society, signed in 1928 by King Ferdinand and also all of the projects Radio Romania has in view, in the context of marking the Centenary of the Great Union.

Among topics discussed were those related to possible joint projects. As Her Majesty Margareta announced, she plans to organize a reception dedicated to the Romanian Public Radio at the Peleș Castle in Sinaia, Prahova, on the 90th celebration of the Romanian Public Radio.

After talking to Radio Romania President Director-General, Princess Margareta and Prince Radu continued their visit in the Radio Romania News Room and Broadcasting Studio, where they were shown the modern means of processing and recording news. Inside the Newsroom, Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu expressed interest to find out how the information gets to the listeners and how sound frequencies are transmitted on air.

They entered the recording studios that use modern sound processing techniques, also the old studios, still well-preserved and operational, and other recording studios, where they talked to news-editors, reporters, technical staff, asked many questions and expressed their admiration for the professionalism of Radio Romania employees and managing staff.

Princess Margareta and Prince Radu also visited the Radio Romania Concert Hall and the Radiophonic Theater Studios, the place where the play written by King Mihai and Queen Ana has been recorded.
