Britain's Prince Edward and his wife, Countess of Wessex, are coming today for two days in Romania – at their first official visit to our country.
The princely couple will attend a series of events marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the British Council in Romania.
Before 1989, the institution functioned as cultural sectors of the British Embassy.
After the fall of communism and on the background of a growing interest in the UK, the British Council has gained its own identity and has established its center into a building downtown Bucharest.
Since 1990 have been established partnerships with local institutions and developed regional activities in Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Sibiu and Timisoara.
