Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu held a round of consultations with representatives of the Sanitas Federation on Thursday, 25 January, after which it was agreed to adjust staffing levels following an evaluation and to free up posts, with priority in the busiest university and county hospitals, as well as to increase the salary fund for the health sector by 15% in the first half of the year.
According to a government press release quoted by Agerpres, the discussions focused on the two areas of the demands previously communicated by Sanitas representatives, namely the need for posts in health units and the salaries of health system staff.
This evaluation will also be on the agenda of a new meeting to be held next week, to which hospital and county hospital managers, the management of the National Health Insurance House and representatives of the ministries with responsibilities in this area will be invited, the government added.
"It was agreed to increase the salary fund by 15% for the health sector, which should be implemented in the first half of this year", the statement issued by the executive added.
